Two Priceless Lessons

Last week was a great one, nothing big happened but I got to two very great lessons in my life.

The first was during political ecology class, Mr. Kelvin Egay taught on global risk. I'm pretty sure many of you heard of global warming, climate change etc global issues, but do we actually question about it? We tend to universally generalize it. We know because we were told, but we don't question. Same principle applied in my life, we accept thing just as is without actually critically thinking about it. For instance, we will laugh at persons whose fashion so outdated, never been to Starbucks or watching movie in cinema, somehow I felt that people these days too much of influences rather than their own choices which portray their own styles. So, a reminder to myself, please think critically Mike.

Secondly, I learnt this in church 'Words for Life' session. We listened to sermon 'Fear for God' by Rev. John Bevere. I like his sermon indeed sharing on the fear of the Lord is the beginning of intimacy. One thing hit me deeply during his interviewed in jail, he asked a prisoner does he love God, the man said yes, I do. But, how come you're still in jail? John asked. The man answered, "John, I love God, but I don't fear God." This shook my heart so much. It is easier to tell people we're Christian than to work it out, let's fear the Lord. Fear doesn't mean so scary but do not wish to provoke Jesus to anger but to follow His righteous way, in our speech, action, love, compassion and so on.

Sunrise

When I was approached by my church bro and sisters to see sunrise, I was so reluctant at first, so the reason many would give, I need sleep! Haha. But thanks them for pursuading me, saying I'm going to graduate soon, I should something different. :)

Just saw the sunrise however, it rose earlier in Sarawak than West Malaysia, around 6.35am. It was so beautiful, sadly I only had phone camera with me, else can capture better pic. Anyways, Gods creation is awesome right? Thanks God for another day I'm still able to breathe and enjoy His beautiful creation. :)

5 Years and Still Going

I still remember how blogging this thing came to my mind when I was on duty in my 6th form school sport day. The thought came to me so randomly, I just felt so cool to have a blog. Being a beginner that moment, I blogged almost everything especially funny stuffs and politics, scolding the government in cyber :P Soon, I was serious in blogging, found out it's my very hobby which cannot leave me, I simply love to share and to jot down things happened in my life here. Hence, I got this domain name ahmike.net on 30/8/2008.

So fast huh? It has been 5 years of my blogging journey. To celebrate or not to celebrate? Indeed, I feel quite excited and thankful on how life has been throughout the years, reading back all those posts made me realized life is really good as I've Jesus :) Besides that, It keeps me on going, soon I'll leave UNIMAS, go for internship, working force, business, marriage, future family etc etc, yes, I will still blog here instead of Facebook/Twitter it. Sharing is always my passion, thanks to blogging, I able to make few thousands dollars although money blogging has no longer is my interest anymore. I'll still blog regardless of how busy I'm.

To my readers, really appreciate your visits to this not-so-glamour-but-I-guess-quite-meaningful blog, to blogging comrades, keep up the passion for sharing :) God bless, Arigato!

Stealing some time to update my blog.

Annywonghaseyo my friends :) Seriously, I never realized I've eaten so many good foods in this two months until I browsed back photo album. Part of me really feel so guilty of not controlling my diet, the other part pula cannot resist from the delicious foods that made me salivate. Still, be thankful kan? ;)

Not really forget what the foods called as, but all taken in Kuching, for goodness sake, Kuching is really foody heaven. I'll miss here after I graduate. *sadness*

Kabong Community Work Trip

Seems like I've abandoned my blog for few weeks time, apart of busyness, I was so active hanging out with friends and joining activities, gonna miss the time in my Uni life, it's the best ever!

On the 26th to 29th April 2012, My course mates and I went to Kabong Trip for Community Work focusing on secondary students, kindergarten kids and villagers for our assignments field trip. We started journey at around 3.40pm and reached Kabong at 11pm, what a long journey, I seriously had fun talking throughout the journeys, not sure when the next again :/

Day 1 (Friday), we went for SMK Kabong for educational event led by me. Thanks God for super awesome crews which made it a success. we basically talked about UNIMAS to them, shared our studies experiences as well as to cheer them with games. The happiness they had despite on time constraint due to arrival of PM on same day, however indeed bring joy to my heart.

Btw, sorry no pictures taken as I was busy during the events. Next, we visited the District Council of Seratok.

We're briefed about Seratok and it was a simple small town :)

Day 2 (28th): Community work with KEMAS kids led by Lonnie. I enjoyed myself being with kids, seeing them how innocent they are making me wish to be like them again haha! grow up Mike!

Who bully who? they blamed each other haha.

Kabong is a small town but I really like the place, nice foods and friendly peoples, not forgetting simple life they live in. (taken when going to buy foods and drinks for kids)

The kids were taught how to prevent disease on hands and legs. We taught them how to wash hands :)

Out of busyness, I stole some to see the sunset alone, hearing the wave, looking at the beautiful sky, how I wish I could stay there longer.

Day 3: Community Work in the village. We donated some goods to the selected villagers, helping them to clean their compound and upgraded their houses. Although the condition is not as bad as I thought, but giving them some love indeed making them happy, we happy too.

This trip to me, indeed one of the best I went before, with great course mates, good laughter, good foods except for not-so-conducive chalet we stayed. I will certainly visit Kabong once again in near future to come :)

I've own analogue film, and I need a handier compact film camera with me to bring around. So, I did online research and eventually bought this sweet child with large aperture of f2.8 at only RM100 with free film. It was rated as good camera overall for compact series. I'm still testing the camera and will share the pictures soon once I develop and scan.

Time, y u pass so fast?

Indeed, we can't stop time from going but to cherish. I'm currently having my last mid-term break and I decided to follow my heart which is to come home. I've had good time always with friends around but I do need to make plenty of time for family. This holiday seems a little different, should I say freer, too much time as I don't need to commit time for relationship again? Or, I'm lazy to think of anything? Yea, besides of online, still online most of the time. I just feel lazy to do my assignment, procrastination maximum! I've been on FB, instagram, twitter a lot rather than blogging, despite their ease of use, I still prefer to type here. :)

Had KFC for dinner with my two good friends before we left uni to our respective places. As usual, non stop chit-chat session :)

This guy named Aziz, is a controversial guy who stirs up issues always, my good friend though. I really admire his guts to speak out, anything you name it.

I like the scenery so much with the ray of sun.

Met my coursemate who was going to South Korea in McD LCCT. What a coincidence! Hah!

Wooooooooots! The macho EP-3. Finally got my hands on it, it's said to have faster AF system, I beg to differ though, not applicable in all situations.

How can I miss out this place, the Jonker Walk! Each time when I was there, it is a must for me to eat the Taiwan Sausage with Tomyam :D

Visited grandparents' graveyards on Easter's day. Somehow it made me think, I'm living by God's grace and mercy, I will have eternal life with Jesus. So do you!

Okay! Self-pampered with Starbucks after craving for so long. Maybe this gonna be last till don't know which comes next, I'm reducing sweet stuffs for body building. :)

I'm reminding to tell myself everyday must take some pics and blog here, it really makes me to be aware of every moments I'm going to, life's extra fun now when I learn to be more appreciate and thankful to God.

There are many persons which I so reluctant to say good bye to once I graduate, especially my course mates whom we spend most of times together in lectures. I helped them to take group photo for study trip banner. Truth is, I miss them :')

The sunset was so beautiful yesterday, reminded me of the times I sit alone at the seaside, looking at sunset and I will always tell myself 'Life is so short'. Spend it to fullest!

LOL, I've posted lots of random stuffs lately, I think its good. Some day when I look back at this blog again, I will realize what I did in the past, who cares, I'll jot down anything here :)

Went to Hope Kuching for combine service today, as always, I'm always blessed by the warm greetings from brethren. Whenever I saw brothers and sisters in church, I began to remind myself that we need not to be so godly in order to touch lives, but simply live like Jesus sharing love, care and we keep Jesus's character.

Hope Kuching. Nice green wall, likey!

First time bought the DAP newspaper, The Star and other mainstream newspapers quite biased, read this to neutralize my views on politic :D

Although family is from where I am at currently, I'm always thankful to have wonderful sister in my university, we still keep in touch often even she's graduated. Anyway, glad to meet her for lunch at Kim Bay Hong Kong Restaurant and movie (Seefood, Malaysian Production which I rate 3/5, can be improved).

Ever since I used film camera, it's been rarely for me to use digital camera again, thus I seldom update this blog as I cannot get pictures from film cam instantly, it's film! :) anyway, I decided to bring my faithful Sony T300 around with me to get more pictures.

I was so excited waiting for the coming of this camp and it had just came to pass 3 days ago. This was my first time joining Hope Kota Samarahan Church Annual Camp themed 'Passion'. The journey took us 2 hours from Kuching, my first thought was the place must be kind of jungle like since the journey surrounded by jungles, bumpy roads etc. I was wrong, the resort is 5 starts resort :D

Frankly, the camp was awesome in term of service, teamwork, accommodation, relaxation, peoples and most importantly God's presence always be with us. I personally believe that God always pleased with passionate peoples who keep the David's heart which is so desire to have Him in all things in life. I'm glad to see young peoples getting to know Jesus more and more, always my heart felt.

Our dorm rooms for ten persons each room, to my surprise, the condition was so good, not only clean but has air-conditioner inside, ahhhhh make it good sleep always :)

Apart of the beach, I like to hang out here, Tree top around 1 and half story height.

Film is always great!

I was so excited to develop and scan two films which I used, Kodak Gold 400 and Lucky expired BnW 100. Though using film these days cost a lot, but seeing the pictures really make me satisfied, the pictures taken somehow not like typical pictures today but contain 'feeling' in the picture itself.

It took me so much courage to be here and share with you again. Anyway, today is 29th :)

I've just been into deepest moment of my life exactly 2 weeks ago which was Valentine's Day in 2012. I lost someone I love deeply, the first cut will I not forget for life. She decided to break off with me for certain reasons which I felt pretty wasted for a 6 years relationship.

I will not forget those lovely, sad, hurt, pain, happy, funny, crazy and hard moments. All were great, there were so many 'first time' I've been through with her, too many to name all here. Anyhow, nasi sudah menjadi bubur. I've learnt to be more open minded and be stronger in God, it was difficult to accept the truth as I still believe things could be fixed if we could see love bigger than problems. I can't force another party else she'll be in hardship. However, I will not leave her that way, whatever I promised her before such as to be there for her anytime she needs, I'll do.

One thing I saw in Facebook which encouraged me a lot too, "The moment I'm sad, I tell myself stop being sad and be awesome instead.' Coolest stuff I heard throughout my dark moments. Yea, I'll continue to upgrade myself in various areas such as spiritual, emotion, mentality, physical, fashion, social skills, being more open minded, successful career, closer to family etc etc. lol, and for now just wanna be single and mingle around with freedom.

Though my heart not ready to accept new relationship and I'm not desperate for partner, certainly God will provide the best for me. He knows best :)

Mods Cafe in Jalan Tokong Melaka

This is another cool cafe recommended to me by my friends. Its concept is about RETRO, therefore you can see well kept old stuffs such as tins, disc, pinball, bicycle etc in the cafe. Trust me, you'll like it so much.

Volkswagen Classic Bus and Vespa. I could understand how much the owners (owned by couple) love retro, just like me :)

Antique stuffs as the decoration, how I wish all could be mine.

The cafe is easy to be found, I have included the address at the end of the post. It's just opposite the mosque in Jonker Street or besides the Chinese Temple.

Our orders: Hot Chocolate and Mocha. The price is reasonable. They serve mostly on beverage with some home made cakes. You should give a try.

They sell souvenirs too at reasonable price, you can keep it as memories. They design the stuffs themselves.

Not forget to mention, the special part of this cafe is they use a Volkswagen Classic Bus as their 'kitchen' where they makes coffees etc inside of it, super cool!

Yashica FX3, old classic solid camera

Photography today has been too commercialised in my humble opinion, everyone can own a dslr easily cause its cheaper and for them, bigger camera means better pictures with blurred background. I however salute those who value old camera, and that being said, I have been `poised` by the enthusiasm.

I admit that :) recently, I saw a good deal of yashica fx3 camera online. The package came with 50mm f2 lens, national brand flash, leather original case and Kodak fresh film. What a good deal, without thinking for third time, I quickly agreed with the deal and thanks to the seller, I've just got this camera just now. I really happy to get it :) the feeling of using such camera is so much different, now I could understand why film camera users think before they click the shutter, it really cost a lot for the film as well as to develop it. But, the joy of shooting is there. In the pic is my 5years old Olympus pen and the yashica fx3 of which I've no idea of its age. I guess around 30-40 years, probably older than me few times :D

I'll still exploring it and will post the film once I finish the first roll of film and developing it. Stay tuned ;)
